FOUR G'S: GOD IS GOOD

Church Family,

Prepping for Sunday is a tool that Redeemer is using to prepare your heart for our gathering. Our prayer and thought behind this is for you to think more about how the Lord wants to work in you & speak to you within our gathering each week.

This week is the third of four weeks in our 4 G’s Series titled: “God is good, so we don’t have to look elsewhere.” We are tempted every day to believe that things other than God can bring about satisfaction and fulfillment but we see throughout the scriptures that God is good & he alone can bring about joy, fulfillment and satisfaction. This is amazing news & we can trust that He is good!

Our call to worship this week is Psalm 119:33-40:

Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!

This psalm encourages us to turn our eyes from worthless things that bring no satisfaction & look to God for our good. This week lets pray that God would:

  1. Show us where we are prone to look to for satisfaction & fulfillment apart from Him
  2. Help us to surrender to God & trust in His goodness.

This week we will be singing the following songs during our worship time. These songs were chosen specifically to help us respond to God’s grace and point us to God’s goodness.

This I Believe
Rest In You
Forever
Lord I need You
Sovereign Over Us

We also want to teach our kids about who God is. This week kids will be learning:

Preschool 2s (2 years*): Only God is Big, focusing on the story of sin in the garden (Genesis 3)
