FOUR G'S: GOD IS GREAT

Church Family,

Prepping for Sunday is a tool that Redeemer is using to prepare your heart for our gathering. Our prayer and thought behind this is for you to think more about how the Lord wants to use you or teach you within our gathering each week.

When we meet as a family God speaks to us through reading, singing, and preaching. This week we are kicking off our 4 G’s Series with week 1: “God is Great, so we don't have to be in control.” We will be confronted with the reality that we all try to control our world in some shape or form while also being reminded that God is sovereign, reigning & victorious over all of the fears we carry. In light of this good news, we can relinquish control to the only one capable of being in charge!

Call to worship is our call as God’s people to respond together to him. We are dependent on the holy spirit, not on ourselves, which reminds us that our identity isn’t in our circumstance but in the fact that we are a son/daughter of the King.

Our call to worship is Psalm 112:1-9:

Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments!
His offspring will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house,
and his righteousness endures forever.
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever.
He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his horn is exalted in honor.

In response to our call to worship Verses 6-9 of this Psalm remind us that for those who fear the Lord & Trust in him have a heart that is firm & steady instead of anxious & fearful. This week pray that God would:

  1. Show us where we desire control.
  2. Help us to let go & trust Him with these areas of our lives.

We will be singing the following songs during our worship time this week. These songs were chosen specifically to help us respond to God’s grace and point us to God’s goodness.

Come Light Our Hearts
Rest In You

Great Are You Lord
