On behalf of the Finance Team, I wanted to give you an update on our building fundraiser. I am pleased to announce that we have currently contributed $31,436.11! That means we only need $13,563.89 more to reach our fundraising goal of $45,000.
It takes a humble heart and an exalted view of God to give generously to fundraisers such as these. I am reminded when David was making temple building preparations for his son Solomon who would soon succeed him as king of Israel. Take a look at David’s humble response (along with the people of Israel) to building God’s temple:
1 Chronicles 29:14-17
“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.”
Thank you, Redeemer family for your humble response! Since we will continue raising funds through August, I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage those who have yet to contribute to please consider making a donation. You can give online via www.redeemerrr.org/give (be sure to select the “Building Fund”) or during our initial gathering in the new building on August 13th.
